Electra-Loom manufacture electrical wiring looms for use in transport and industrial equipment. To coincide with the company’s move to a new factory, Electra-Loom wanted a modernised look for their logo. Once complete, it was to be rolled out across all their branded materials.
Client Brief
A complete overhaul of the Electra-Loom logo. The key goal was a positive, modernised look for their niche industry.
Once the logo was approved and used on business cards, the new look and feel would be applied to all stationery, marketing collateral, signage and the website.
Process
Logo: Electra-Loom’s previous logo was a nod to the history of the company, utilising an old-fashioned electrical cord to form the company letters of E and L. It sat on a gradient background, and had a simple shine effect.
Orion worked with the Electra-Loom team to focus on the positive future for the business, simplifying and enhancing the logo via means of a visual effect which creates an optical illusion with the white space in the lowercase ‘e’, in which you can also see a resulting capital E.
The new look and feel for the Electra-Loom brand is characterised by a blue curve consisting of three lines that fade out to a lighter blue tint, sitting against a white or dark grey background.
Marketing Collateral: The logo and look and feel came together in new business cards, and across all marketing collateral, packaging, signage for the new factory, and the website.
Website Design: For the refreshed Electra-Loom website, alongside the new look and feel, Orion chose Electra-Loom’s end products as the most powerful means of visually expressing the range of complicated, niche, products and services.
Website Content: Information on the products and services was restructured by Orion, to provide a clear flow through the site for the end user.
Final Thoughts
Electra-Loom’s new look represents a positive future for the business. Applied across all marketing collateral, it demonstrates that niche trade industries can have a forward thinking, capable brand, whilst maintaining the best in old fashioned service and standards, and time proven technologies.
