Write a winning email subject line

When your email arrives in your subscriber’s inbox, there are two things that straight away impacts the likelihood of it being read. These two things are

  • the identity of the sender in the “from” field, and
  • the email subject line.

As for the “from” address – keep it simple and recognisable with your company name. But how do you write a subject line that will get your email opened?

Is website content as important as design?

Mother’s are always right, aren’t they? Growing up, my mum frequently used to tell me: “It’s not what you say. It’s how you say it.” When we start the process of building or redesigning a site at Orion, our holistic view is based on a belief in the importance of that proven adage.

When it comes to websites, what you say – in this case being the design of your site, and how you say it – the copy/content and functionality, play equal parts in the success, or otherwise, of your website.

How running an email marketing campaign is like training to be a warrior

I was thinking the other day, while training to be a warrior, that it is a lot like running an email campaign… Kind of spooky in comparison actually.

Just like training to be a warrior, email marketing needs to have the proper planning, you’re not going to see results right away, you need to focus, you need to repeat the process a few times and you need to grow a beard and roar from a mountain top.
